About E.C.H.O.
Eternal Connection & Heritage Organization — a living archive for the people who shaped us.
Our mission
Memories fade, voices are forgotten, and the wisdom of a lifetime can disappear in a single goodbye. E.C.H.O. exists so families never lose the ability to talk with the people they love. We preserve a person's stories, beliefs, voice, and likeness while they're here — and turn them into a warm, honest conversation that endures for generations.
What an Echo actually is
An Echo is a conversational memory, not a clone or a claim of life. It speaks in a person's voice and style, but only from the real materials they (or their family) approved. When you ask something the archive doesn't cover, an Echo says so honestly instead of inventing an answer.
- Grounded: answers come from recorded memories, not guesswork.
- Transparent: every reply is labeled a direct memory, an inference, or "not in the archive."
- Source-backed: you can see which memories an answer drew from.
How it works
Preserve
Record stories and record a short likeness video in the Legacy Builder.
Ground
Echo builds a personality bounded by the real archive and your stated limits.
Connect
Family has a real-time, face-to-face conversation with the legacy.
Consent & ethics
Consent isn't a checkbox to us — it's the foundation. A Legacy Profile should only be created with the person's permission while living, or with the approval of their family or estate. Families own and control their archives, decide who may ever speak with a profile, and can set boundaries the Echo will never cross. An Echo is always presented as a memory, never as the living person.
The technology
E.C.H.O. pairs grounded language models with real-time avatar video (via HeyGen LiveAvatar) so conversations feel present and personal. A person's real likeness and voice can be captured from a short video and added to their profile.
